En av våre nye favoritter og nære samarbeidspartnere innen belysning, svenske Wästberg representerer noe helt nytt.i Skandinavia. Med en sterk vilje til å tenke nytt, engasjere skarpe formgivere og ikke minst en forkjærlighet for presisjon og detaljer.

På årets Stockholmsmesse presenterte det unge firmaet 2 nye prosjekter: En tilbaketrukket klassisk funksjonalistisk design fra arkitekten David Chipperfield  i messing. Og en leken lampe fra franske Inga Sempé - som ved første øyekast gir assosiasjoner til lampetyper fra midten av 1900-tallet - men som er utstyrt med LED.

"The product references an archetypal personal desk lamp for home or office
use, and seeks to offer a fresh interpretation of the familiar on a domestic
scale. The lamp is predominantly made from brass - a material commonly associated
with lights, though not so widely used today - with details in rubber.
The intention was to create a simple form with a clear distinction between a
base, a single arm and a lamp head. The lamp has no visible joints and minimal
directional movement, without compromising its function."

"This elementary lamp is meant to be as simple and solid as a nail or a push
pin. As with traditional tool machine lighting, the mechanics are sturdy and
long-lasting, with the aim of improving classical industrial elements: the
clamp is inverted to offer a better way of using it. The lamp mixes solidity and
lightness: a thin beam joins the two opposite pieces of the lamp: the heavy
cast foot to a delicate shade. Its silhouette and its various positions bring to
mind a small umbrella."
