BioBasedTiles fra Stone Cycling er en biologisk basert betongflis, produsert ved hjelp av bakterier.
Bygge- og rivavfall utgjør anslagsvis en tredjedel av den totale avfallsproduksjonen i EU. Samtidig går jorden tom for grunnleggende råvarer. Bygningssektoren står for 11 % av verdens karbonutslipp.
Biomason har tatt inspirasjon fra hvordan naturen vokser gjennom en av sin mest robuste og varige strukturer: koraller. Med inspirasjon fra marine økosystemer, er Biomason på vei til å redusere karbonutslipp i produksjonen av byggematerialer.
BioBasedTiles er 20 % lettere enn en vanlig betongblokk, men tre ganger sterkere.
